Rebecca J. Proctor
Rebecca attended Eckerd College at St. Petersburg, Florida, where she graduated with Honors earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. She attended law school at Nova Southeastern University located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree in 2001.
She is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Sarasota County Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Florida State Guardianship Association.
Rebecca presently volunteers with the Florida Bar Speakers Bureau. Rebecca has served as the President of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers-Sarasota Chapter. Rebecca also serves the community in various
positions. In 2010 she was elected to serve as President of the Sarasota County Civic League and had served on the Board for 5 years. Rebecca has also served on the Board of Directors for The Children’s’ Guardian Fund, Inc., a not-for-profit organization assisting
the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program, and presently serves as a member of the advisory committee.
Rebecca’s practice in the area of Guardianship and Elder law encompasses many areas. Some of the common issues that she can address with you are: estate planning; trusts; administration of trusts and estates; probate; asset protection; abuse, neglect or exploitation of the older person; guardianship for the elderly and for minors; developmental disability guardianships; disability planning (preparing for the possibility of the future incompetence of the individual through the use of durable powers of attorney, living trusts, advance directives, etc.) Guardianships; supplemental and long-term care needs; nursing homes, assisted living needs and Medicaid planning.
