Mr. Shults represents clients in a broad range of cases, including complex business and commercial disputes, probate and trust suits, construction project litigation
and election law.
Mr. Shults is a Board Certified in Civil Trial Lawyer.
Board Certification is the
highest level of evaluation by
the Florida Bar of competency and experience
within an area of law. Less than 2% of all Florida lawyers are Board Certified
in Civil Trial.
Mr. Shults also holds the highest peer rating (AV) from the independent attorney rating agency, Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Shults is Chairman of the Code & Rules of Evidence Committee of The Florida Bar, 2012-2013.
In addition to professional activities, Mr. Shults is a member of the Sarasota County Historical Commission and a Board member of the Children's Guardian Fund. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award of the Sarasota County Bar Association for his work with the non-profit Mental Health Community Centers.
Mr. Shults grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. After graduating from Florida
State University with a degree in psychology and completing his service in
the U.S. Army, he attended the Washburn University School of Law where he
received his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1982.
